A Leading from the Front Series Program:
The Marine’s Memorial will be hosting a screening of the film Taking Chance, an award-winning HBO film based on the true story of U.S. Marine LtCol Michael Strobl and his journey escorting the remains of LCpl Chance Phelps from Dover AFB to his hometown in Wyoming. After the film, audience members will have the unique opportunity to engage in a live Q&A with LtCol Strobl, the Marine whose real-life experiences inspired this powerful story.
Guest Speaker: LtCol Michael R. Strobl, USM (Ret)
Michael R. Strobl, Ph.D., is a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer and currently serves as the Assistant Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia. He assists the Deputy Commandant in managing the Marine Corps’ Manpower & Reserve Affairs, which develops policies and programs to support all Marines, their families, and civilian personnel.
