Meet the Author: Dr. Robert Topping
Dr. Robert Topping is a Vietnam War Infantry Marine combat veteran and author of The Shadows of the Ghost Platoon. Drawing on his own military experiences, he brings to life the courage and brotherhood of the men of Fox 2/3 during some of their darkest hours, offering everyone a powerful glimpse into combat and camaraderie.
“The Shadows of the Ghost Platoon” by Dr. Robert Topping, is a compelling story about a group of 18 to 22-year-old replacement Marines, two Navy Corpsmen, and one Kit Carson Scout under the leadership of a career Staff Sergeant and a young 2ndLt, fresh out of Officer Candidate School, who transformed a garrison unit into a lethal infantry platoon during the Vietnam War in 1969.
